the potential fallacy

cognitive bias (though I'm not sure if this is just me, or if it's a more general thing. My guess is it's more general, but it's not something I hear about that much).

The one where I spend more time planning what I could do than actually doing.

Why do I call this a fallacy? Because my brain really thinks that just by planning, it's doing something. It feels almost as good planning to read a book as it does actually reading it. But that's a bad heuristic. That's my brain failing myself. Spending all my effort hoarding acorns without realizing that my ribs are poking out.
